Computer-based Assessments (CBAs)

All papers of Certificate level are Computer Based Assessments (CBA) and can be sat in any Sequence and at any time of the year by just one week prior request along With deposit of requisite paper fee. All assessments for the Certificate syllabus subjects are 2 hours. The pass mark for each subject is 50% and students will receive their results and Certificate of Achievement immediately after the assessment. Students are free to sit the papers in any order, but IBL advise you to sit paper C02, before you attempt C01 as understanding some of the C01 theory can be assisted by a basic understanding of Financial accounting. CIMA also recommend that you study either paper C03 or C04 early in your studies.

Manual examinations

Examinations for CIMA professional qualification are all manual exams held twice a year in May and November. The pass mark for all of the operational, management and strategic level subject examinations is 50% and permanent credit is awarded for any paper in which the candidate scores 50% or more.
Operational level is the first level of the CIMA Professional Qualification. Students are advised to sit Operational level before moving to Management level. Successful completion of Operational level will mean you gain the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting. This is a new award under the May 2010 syllabus change.
Management level is the second level of the CIMA Professional Qualification. Students must sit Management level before moving to Strategic level. Successful completion of Management level will mean you gain the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. Strategic level is the third level of the CIMA Professional Qualification. Students must have completed Management and Operational level (or hold relevant exemptions) before moving to Strategic level. If students are sitting Strategic level for the first time, you must sit all three examination papers together at the first sitting. At any subsequent attempts, you can take these papers in any order and combination.
